Teriyaki Tuna Steak

Today I was happily surprised to have the day off, so I took a tuna steak out of the freezer and thawed it. I make my own teriyaki sauce by putting in 1 part vegetable oil, 3 parts low sodium soy sauce, 1 1/2 parts granulated sugar and fresh chopped or crushed garlic to taste (I like a LOT of garlic). I put all those ingredients in a bag with the tuna steak and let them sit together for a while. If you do it with chicken or beef, you can even do it the day before and it will just soak up all the flavours. Once I am ready to cook, I lightly oil my George Foreman Grill and toss the meat on the grill for a few. Tonight, I just tossed a single serving of italian veggies from Green Giant in the microwave for my side, but next time, I would like to use the extra teriyaki marinade to saute some mushrooms in and then put the whole lot over salad greens or brown rice or some couscous. Mmmmm.... yum!!

Happy eating!!
